Oracle Customers Select SAP Solutions

February 26, 2008 || Business Performance and Governance, Risk and Compliance:

Oracle Customers Select SAP Solutions

SAP AG today announced success in its efforts to help customers add value to their IT investments by moving from other vendors’ applications to more comprehensive enterprise performance management (EPM) and governance, risk and compliance (GRC) solutions from SAP.

These solutions work together to further enhance business performance and help companies build a reputation for reliable, compliant and sustainable operations. SAP reported that over the past several months more than 100 customers worldwide purchased SAP solutions for enterprise performance management with the intention to replace Hyperion solutions from Oracle. Among those customers are: Ballast Nedam N.V., Foundation Coal, KPN Telecom B.V., Rezidor SAS, Sandvik AB, Skandia Informasjonsteknologi AS and TPG Headoffice BV. SAP also reported that it expanded market presence by selling SAP solutions for GRC into new accounts including Chevron.

Unlike solutions from other vendors, which provide only partial insight and require ongoing customer investments in integration, SAP offers customers a comprehensive set of EPM and GRC solutions that empower organizations to address critical issues facing today’s office of the CFO. The portfolio of SAP solutions for enterprise performance management unifies the full range of financial and operational processes in a single stack, arming finance professionals with capabilities such as strategy, profitability, cost and planning management.

In addition, customers are turning to SAP because the company offers EPM solutions that are unified with SAP solutions for GRC. These applications help customers to build stakeholder confidence through improved executive oversight, risk detection and monitoring, and more effective controls over key business processes. The combination of EPM and GRC solutions allows SAP customers to improve financial performance while better managing risk and ensuring corporate accountability.

Responding to customer demand to work with fewer vendors and provide finance professionals with a complete, unified view of their business, SAP has invested in and expanded its EPM product portfolio, for example, by adding new capabilities resulting from the acquisition of OutlookSoft. Furthermore, the acquisition of Business Objects by SAP means customers will further benefit from the leading business intelligence platform and EPM solutions – which ensure all EPM activities are based on a single, accurate version of the truth – from a single vendor.

“The SAP Business Planning and Consolidation application helped The Rezidor Hotel Group to cope with the ever increasing need for timely and more detailed financial oversight,” said Alain Wouters, manager, Group Accounting, The Rezidor Hotel Group. “Events such as our recent IPO, and new financial demands, such as customer sustainability reporting for improved accountability to our clients, have added to the workload and could not have been supported with previous software. With SAP Business Planning and Consolidation, we can take a more unified approach to performance management.”

SAP customers also benefit from industry-leading innovation in SAP solutions for enterprise performance management, including unrivaled usability and features to enhance user productivity. For example, SAP Business Planning and Consolidation allows for easy interchange with Microsoft Office and the Web, offering customers an easy-to-use interface that benefits business users regardless of technical skills. In addition, the application allows finance departments to independently maintain their enterprise performance management solutions – decreasing their reliance on IT staff for customization and upkeep. Because SAP solutions for enterprise performance management deliver such user-friendly features, customers can deploy them more broadly and increase the value of their IT investment.

“Existing solutions for performance management were built with the finance department of the 1990s in mind – with a patchwork of products, on old architectures, a rear-view approach to budgeting, and no links to the actual business processes,” said Sanjay Poonen, senior vice president and general manager of Enterprise Performance Management, Business Objects, an SAP company. “With continued investment and innovation in SAP solutions for enterprise performance management, we can offer modern CFOs a more compelling value proposition, especially when customers pair EPM solutions with our GRC offerings. We have seen a strong, positive response by customers, as demonstrated by the strong success SAP had during the second half of 2007. Customers value a more complete EPM and GRC solution offering, and, most importantly, a trusted solution provider. These are the attributes that account for SAP’s strong momentum in this market.”

membuat report.

• Pada pertengahan tahun 1980 an, ABAP menjadi bahasa penerjemah
(Interpreter language).
Advance Business Application Programming, sebuah pemrograman generasi

Web Application Server atau SAP WAS. ABAP AS adalah infrasturktur
tersedia didalam SAP Netweaver bersama-sama dengan versi JAVA AS.
sistem SAP Netweaver application server ABAP (ABAP AS).

SAP Technology:
• BC400 - ABAP Workbench – Introduction to ABAP Programming
• BC430 – ABAP Dictionary
• BC402 – ABAP Advance techniques

SAP Business Functional
• AC010 – Business process in Financial Accounting
• LO100 – SAP Plant Maintenance - Introduction

Last but not least, saya menghimbau rekan-rekan di dunia IT Indonesia
Amin.

SAP Is One of 'America's Most Admired Companies'

March 10, 2008 || Named by Fortune magazine:

SAP Is One of 'America's Most Admired Companies'

Fortune magazine has once again named SAP AG, the world's leading provider of business software solutions, in the publication's rankings of "America's Most Admired Companies." Placing fifth in the Computer Software category, SAP was cited among world-class companies such as Microsoft and Intuit.

With an overall score of 6.49, SAP achieved especially high ratings in innovation, people management, social responsibility, quality of management and quality of products and services. This is the second time that SAP has been recognized by Fortune: In 2006, the company ranked number three in the Computer Software category.

With more than 46,100 customers in more than 120 countries, SAP provides applications and services that enable companies of all sizes and in more than 25 industries to become best-run businesses.

"SAP is extremely proud to be recognized as one of 'America's Most Admired Companies'," said Bill McDermott, president and CEO, SAP Americas and Asia Pacific Japan. "This prestigious ranking confirms that our relentless focus on the customer is resonating in the industry and illustrates the innovation, drive and commitment of SAP employees in every aspect of our business."

Fortune describes its "Most Admired" list as "the definitive report card on corporate reputations." The survey is compiled by the Hay Group, and is based on the Fortune 1000 − the 1,000 largest U.S. companies ranked by revenue, and the top foreign companies operating in the United States. This year, more than 3,700 top managers and analysts representing 622 companies across 65 industries were surveyed for the effort. Participants were asked to rate companies in their respective industries based on eight attributes: innovation, people management, use of corporate assets, social responsibility, quality of management, financial soundness, long-term investment and quality of products and services.

SAP Named “Best Employer” in Key Global Markets

SAP Named “Best Employer” in Key Global Markets
Company Tops Employee Ratings in Germany for Fourth Year Running; Receives Award in Japan for Second Time

WALLDORF, Germany - February 13, 2008 - SAP AG (NYSE: SAP) today announced that it has been named “Germany’s Best Employer” for the fourth consecutive year in the 2008 “Great Place to Work” initiative, and that it has been named among the leading employers in Japan by the Great Place to Work Institute (GPTW). The designations recognize SAP’s efforts to provide rewarding career opportunities and a positive work environment for its employees around the world.
Conducted by the Great Place to Work Institute (GPTW) with partners German business magazine Capital, HR magazine personalmagazin, business magazine impulse, insurance group ASSTEL and the initiative New Quality of Work INQA, the award recognizes SAP as the top ranking business in the category of “companies with more than 5,000 employees.” As a result, SAP now qualifies as a nominee in the Institute’s selection for Europe’s most attractive employer. This year, nearly 250 German companies of all sizes and industries participated in the initiative.
In addition, SAP Japan ranked among top 20 companies from the GPTW Institute for the second time in as many years. Participating companies in Japan included global firms such as Microsoft and Hewlett-Packard, along with a mix of small and large local Japanese companies.
Rather than evaluations by a jury, rankings are based on anonymous employee assessments of their company that follow an internationally standardized methodology developed by the Great Place to Work Institute. Nearly 350 employees at SAP Germany answered approximately 60 questions in five categories: fairness, team spirit, credibility, pride and respect toward their employer. The classification covers the entire spectrum of relevant working aspects and inner-company relationships.
High rankings from SAP employees underline the great importance the company places on its employee corporate culture. Personal responsibility for achieving superior customer orientation, innovation and quality awareness, as well as striving to deliver first-class products were cited as the definitive characteristics that make SAP a great place to work. The employee survey was complemented by the initiative’s extensive culture audit completed by SAP’s human resources team.

In last year’s Germany initiative, SAP received exceptional distinction in the category of “Health” and in 2006 in the “Fairness” and “Diversity” categories. In 2007, SAP Labs India was named among Top 10 Great Places to Work and SAP Japan ranked among top 20 in Japan's first Great Place to Work Survey. In 2006, three SAP subsidiaries in Latin America – Mexico, Region Sur and Andina – won “Best Place to Work” awards. These designations continue a string of recognition of SAP’s employment culture in key markets.
“We are pleased to be named Germany’s best employer for the fourth consecutive year and to be recognized again for our efforts in Japan,” said Claus E. Heinrich, executive board member, SAP AG. “We believe that SAP provides an excellent and exciting work environment that enables our employees to deliver outstanding performance, and it is evident from these recognitions that our employees agree. The result is a passionate, dedicated team of people who continue to exceed expectations.”

SAP Business ByDesign partner implementor

March 04, 2008 || New group of “early partners”:

Ecosystem drives SAP Business ByDesign solution momentum

Continuing to drive its rollout of SAP Business ByDesign, the most complete and adaptable on-demand business solution addressing the specific needs of rapidly growing midsize companies, SAP AG today announced that 21 additional respected IT service providers from China, France, Germany and the United Kingdom have assigned to commit themselves to accompany SAP in its phased go-to-market approach.

Of these “early partners,” 16 companies have tremendous experience serving the needs of small businesses and midsize companies with the SAP Business One application and the SAP Business All-in-One solution. In addition to these existing SAP partners who intend to expand their established business with a new model dedicated to volume business, five new companies have expressed their intention to join forces with SAP with the plan to grow their businesses with SAP Business ByDesign. These companies include MyNet Co Ltd. and Inventec Service Co. Ltd. from China as well as ALPHA Business Solutions AG, GUS Group and PORTOLAN Commerce Solutions GmbH from Germany.

Representing key target regions across EMEA and Asia, all these IT service providers intend to work closely with SAP to market the SAP Business ByDesign solution, enabling midsize companies to quickly and cost-effectively reap value from this on-demand business solution. The announcement was made at CeBIT 2008, the world’s leading information technology showcase, being held in Hanover, Germany, March 4-9.

SAP Business ByDesign is an entirely new addition to the SAP solution portfolio for small businesses and midsize companies and focuses on a new, additional market segment at the lower end of the midmarket. With its on-demand deployment model, customers benefit from ease-of use, high availability, full integration and reduced costs for maintenance, testing and upgrades. With this announcement, there are now 43 “early partners” working closely with SAP to address the un-met needs of midsize companies.

“As a market leader in the pharmaceutical industry, we are close to the market and know exactly what midsize customers in this particular segment require,” said Heinz-Paul Bonn, chairman of the board, GUS Group. “We consider GUS and SAP a perfect fit since we strongly believe in the software-as-a-service business model and regard SAP Business ByDesign as a great platform for international markets.”

Ecosystem strengthens Business ByDesign partner program

By working closely with SAP, upcoming and existing partners will add tremendous knowledge and know-how to the SAP Business ByDesign partner program. ALPHA Business Solutions AG, a German system integrator, is a new partner of SAP and also resells non-SAP enterprise resource planning (ERP) software.

“SAP Business ByDesign is an ideal addition to our current solution portfolio,” said Michael Finkler, chief executive officer, ALPHA Business Solutions AG. “We believe this will help us address a new market segment to enhance our business growth. The new solution allows us to offer a subscription-based-on-demand model. In 14 years of consulting engagements with midmarket customers, we often have realized that companies require an integrated business suite, but do not have in-house access to necessary IT resources. SAP Business ByDesign will help those customers to get a top-notch business solution.”

Partners clearly recognize the tremendous market opportunities for SAP Business ByDesign – and for their own businesses.

“Partners will play a key role in the success of SAP Business ByDesign,” said Hans-Peter Klaey, president, Global SME, SAP AG. “SAP Business ByDesign introduces a new business model along with the existing SME portfolio – extending our successful portfolio and providing entirely new opportunities for partners. SAP is dedicating significant resources to ensure that our partners are well-equipped to effectively roll out the new solution and cater to growing customer interest.”
